  • - sheet aluminum with a thickness of 0.2 mm

Instructions

Step 1

Take Halogen Bulb. After removing the white putty from its base, remove all internal contents from the reflector. Be careful not to damage the rather fragile halogen lamp. Cut a circle out of cardboard, the diameter of which should be slightly smaller than the diameter of the reflector circle.

Step 2

Glue it to a thin aluminum sheet and cut it out the same way. Use a hole punch to punch 5 mm holes around the entire circle.

Step 3

Insert the LEDs into these holes, positioning them so that the cathode of one electrode is adjacent to the anode of the other. This arrangement will greatly simplify the soldering process.

Step 4

Drop a drop of glue into the LED installation sites for better fixation. Avoid getting it on the contacts. Fill the assembly with two-component adhesive and let dry.

Step 5

Cut off excess pins before soldering. Solder the pluses in series to the minuses of the LEDs. Leave the positive contact long for the element that will be connected to the power supply. The negative terminal for connecting to power will in turn remain at the last LED in the chain.

Step 6

Make sure that the soldering iron is in contact with the soldering iron for a short time. Otherwise, the LEDs may be damaged due to overheating.

Step 7

Solder the positive LEDs together. In this case, their contact with other contacts should be avoided. Then solder the resistors to the negative terminals, connecting them together afterwards.

Step 8

Solder a piece of copper wire to the remaining two contacts of the LEDs. Do not forget that contact with a resistor in the design is a minus.

Step 9

Insert a blank into the lamp reflector and glue it. Mark the polarity with a marker. Using a twelve-volt power supply, test the lamp for proper operation.
