The ozonizer can be used to disinfect the premises. These devices come in two designs. Some ozonizers produce ozone using an ultraviolet lamp, while others use a corona discharge for this.

Instructions

Step 1

Purchase a faulty cooker hood from an online auction. It must be equipped with a functional ultraviolet disinfection device. Be sure to ask the seller in advance if the quartz lamp is broken. It is dangerous to acquire a device with a broken lamp.

Step 2

Disassemble the device. Use its various parts, such as housing, electric motors, switches, at your discretion. Remove the entire UV emitter assembly, consisting of choke, starter and quartz lamp, from it.

Step 3

Connect a long power cord with a plug through a 1 A fuse to the unit (but never directly to the lamp!). Turn on the power for a few seconds to make sure the lamp is working. Keep it away from eyes and skin while doing this. Turn off the lamp immediately after turning on.

Step 4

Place the finished device in a fireproof insulating housing with slots for radiation exit. Remember that neither glass nor plexiglass allows it to pass through, therefore, it is precisely the cracks that are needed. Through them, the air to be ozonized will enter the device.

Step 5

The algorithm for using the ozonizer is as follows. Place it in the middle of the room. Take the cord out the door, making sure that the door does not pinch it. Plug it into an outlet in the adjacent room, making sure that no one is in the room to be treated, including pets, birds and fish. Open the door slightly, make sure the lamp is on, then close it immediately. Unplug the device after an hour. Then wait another half hour for all the ozone to disintegrate, and only then enter the room. Ventilate it thoroughly.

Step 6

Automate the ozonator if desired. To do this, use the electronic front panel from the faulty microwave oven as a timer. Also place it in an insulating and fireproof housing and position it closer to the plug and not to the appliance. But remember that the additional exposure of half an hour after the end of the ozone treatment of the room, you will have to count manually in this case too.
