A friend or neighbor comes to visit you with a request to share Wi-Fi, because he urgently needs to go online, and the money has run out. And you have a wired Internet and no router, but you really want to help a person. How to be in such a situation?
Do not give up and do not rush to prepare an apologetic speech in front of a friend for the inability to help him, because your smartphone can help you out! Yes, you can distribute "free" Wi-fi not only with a laptop. Your phone can be a great router. To start sharing precious kilobits with a friend (or neighbor), you first need to set up your phone for this function.
Go to "Settings". Select the "Wireless Network Connections" section. Scroll down and choose More. Look for the "Wi-fi router and USB modem" function and select it (in some phones it can be found immediately in the "Wireless network connections" section, without additional search).
Now you need to set the parameters of the router. SSID is the name of your Wi-Fi (router name), it can be specified in any English letters and numbers. We do not touch WPA security and leave it as it is. Now we set a password of eight characters in English letters and numbers.
Almost finished, all that remains is to launch our "mobile wi-fi". To do this, check the box next to "Mobile Wi-fi router" or "Wi-fi access point". You will see connection tips - just click "Ok". An icon will pop up in the notifications on your phone, signaling that the router is running.
You see how simple everything turns out to be. Now you can give a password to your friend to connect to your "mobile router". You can also connect to such Wi-Fi from a laptop.
