Canon laser and inkjet printers are widespread and popular. They are easy to use and highly reliable. Nevertheless, every printer user sooner or later faces the need to refill it.

Instructions

Step 1

Refilling Canon PG-30, PG-40 and PG-50 inkjet cartridges is easy. Place the cartridge on a paper towel, then very carefully drill a hole in the recess at the bottom of the cartridge, just below the “B” mark.

Step 2

Draw 20 milliliters of black ink with a syringe, very carefully and slowly into the drilled hole. Remove the syringe needle and cover the hole with tape. Refueling is over. Place the cartridge in the printer and leave for 5-8 hours, then carry out 2-3 cleaning cycles. To clear the empty cartridge counter, press and hold the paper feed button for a few seconds.

Step 3

Before refilling cartridges for Canon PIXMA IP4300 and the like, prepare five syringes, according to the number of ink bottles. Do not forget that the printer has two black ink cartridges that differ in size. The small cartridge is refilled with water-based ink, the large one is pigmented. The first is used when printing images, the second when printing text.

Step 4

Prepare some paper napkins to avoid smearing the table. Turn on the printer, lift the top cover. When the printer pops out the cartridges, start refilling. You can start with any cartridge, but it is better to refuel in order, from left to right (or vice versa). Remove the first cartridge, put it on a tissue.

Step 5

Take a sewing needle, clamp it with pliers and heat it in a lighter flame. Then use a hot needle to very gently puncture the hole in the upper right-hand corner of the cartridge. The diameter of the hole should be such that the syringe needle passes through it. If a molten bead forms around the hole, carefully cut it off with a sharp knife or razor blade.

Step 6

Draw a full syringe of the desired color of ink, position the cartridge with the lower opening over the ink bottle (so that the squeezed out drops drip into the bottle). Insert the syringe needle into the hole you made and refill the cartridge, the ink level should almost reach the hole. After that, remove the syringe needle and seal the hole with tape. Refueling is complete, insert the cartridge into the printer.

Step 7

The rest of the cartridges are refilled in the same way. Do not confuse black ink - the bottle for the large cartridge should say “Pigment”. Please note that after refueling, the printer will still display information that the cartridges are empty. When such a message appears, simply click the "Continue Printing" button, the ink level sensor of the corresponding cartridge will be disabled.

Step 8

Refueling Canon laser printers is also not very difficult, but it requires accuracy. One of the most common is the Canon EP-22 cartridge, it is used in printers Canon LBP-800, Canon LBP-1120, etc. For refilling you need HP AX (5L, 1100) toner.

Step 9

Remove the protective cover covering the drum unit by prying it under the axle with a screwdriver. Do this very carefully, do not lose the spring. Then use the pliers to remove the drum shaft from the gear side. Unclench the cartridge halves and gently grab only the gear and pull out the drum unit. Wipe it with a soft cloth and put it in a dark place.

Step 10

Use a pair of tweezers to remove the primary charge shaft - rubber, located directly under the drum unit. Don't touch it with your fingers! Wipe off carbon deposits and set aside. Then remove the axles holding the spring-loaded halves of the cartridge. One axle is pulled out, the other inward. If the cartridge has not been refueled before, knock the second axle inward with a hammer, it should pierce the plastic partition.

Step 11

Remove the cleaning blade by unscrewing the two screws at the edges. Empty the debris bin, replace the blade. In the second half of the toner cartridge, remove the cover from the side opposite the gears by unscrewing the screw that retains it. Remove the filler cap and carefully pour new toner into the hopper through the funnel. Do not add toner all the way to the filling hole, leave about two centimeters of free space. Otherwise, the cartridge may jam.

Step 12

Close the filler plug, reassemble the cartridge in reverse order. Wipe off any toner residues, shake slightly to distribute the toner evenly in the hopper. Insert into the printer, close the cover. Print a couple of test pages. The first pages may be slightly stained with toner, and then the print quality will be normal.
