Dozens of people lose their cell phones every day. Someone becomes a victim of thieves, and someone simply loses their phone. Finding a missing cell phone is difficult, however, if you act quickly, the chances of recovering the loss increase significantly.
Instructions
Step 1
If you find that your cell phone is missing, call it from another phone as soon as possible. If the missing cell phone is nearby, you will find it by the ringtone sound. If someone found your phone, then there is a high probability that the finder will answer your call, and then you can agree with him to return your lost phone.
Step 2
It is much more difficult to find a missing cell phone if the person who found it decided to take the phone for himself, or if you became a victim of robbers. In this case, the SIM card will most likely be removed from the phone, so attempts to call it will lead to nothing. If you find yourself in this situation without wasting time, contact the police.
Step 3
In the police write a statement about the missing cell phone. If you know your phone's IMEI, be sure to include it. The phone's IMEI is an international mobile equipment identifier that is assigned to the phone during manufacture at the factory. IMEI consists of fifteen digits and remains unchanged regardless of which SIM card is currently on the cell phone. Therefore, knowing the IMEI, with the help of special technologies, you can calculate the location of the phone with an accuracy of several meters, as well as get data about the owner of the SIM card that is in the phone at that moment.
Step 4
If you filed a report on the day the cell phone was lost and indicated its IMEI, the police will probably be able to find it. If you do not know the IMEI of the phone, or if you have "delayed" the application, the chances of finding the phone will drop to almost zero.
