Internet access is becoming faster and more user-friendly. The first, second, third, fourth and future fifth generation wireless networks allow you to do fantastic things that were not possible before, when the connection consisted of a regular modem and a telephone line.
Despite the high-speed Internet connections, they are not completely reliable. Even a proven format like 3g can have interruptions that cause trouble for regular users. Documentation is not sent, the workflow gets up, life becomes sad without access to a social network.
Almighty 3G
3G includes special mobile communication technologies that have been developed for a long time, and since 2002 have been successfully used in Russia. It is based on packet data transmission, occurring at a frequency of about 2 GHz in the decimeter range with a speed of 3, 6 to 7, 6 Mbit / s. With the help of such a connection, you can easily organize a video conference, communication via Skype, watch movies and TV programs on a PC or mobile phone without any problems. Everything would be fine if at one fine moment this connection was not disconnected.
When 3G does not work
As you already understood, this communication format can work both in mobile phones and on a PC using a special modem. And this does not always happen as steadily as we would like it to be. However, there is a way, if not "fly" in the network, then at least be in touch.
It is enough to set "Automatic network selection" in the settings of a mobile phone or application on a computer and you can live peacefully on. The following will happen. If the provider is currently carrying out preventive maintenance of the transmitting 3g antenna and communication is not available, the system will automatically choose a different connection method. Do not forget that 3G is a third generation network, but before it there were two more - EDGE and GPRS.
- EDGE - sometimes referred to as 2g, it operates at a speed of about 384 Kbps. When switching to it from 3g, the speed drops noticeably, but you can still transfer some documents and important letters.
- GPRS - strictly speaking, this is not the very first generation of mobile communications, since you can list such formats unfamiliar to ordinary users as CDMA and AMPS, the predecessors of GPRS, but nevertheless, in Russia it was GPRS that became more widespread at a speed of 115 Kbps. Small letters and chat in ICQ will provide such a connection. Watching movies and downloading large files will be quite problematic.
However, if there is no access to 3g, these two options are a good alternative in a difficult situation, when the Internet is needed urgently, and high speed cannot be expected. Alternatively, check the Internet settings, access points and other parameters, but usually everything is in order with them.
