Connecting USB devices and storage devices to a PDA requires support for the USB-Host function, i.e. a special adapter for a real full port of entry. The official name is USB on-the-go.
Instructions
Step 1
Carefully study the technical documentation of your PDA - support or lack of support for the USB-Host function should be reflected there. Check if a special USB-Host cable is included in the package. Such a cable is connected to a standard data connector. Please note that only connecting a USB stick does not require additional drivers to be installed. All other USB devices assume the required drivers have been preinstalled.
Step 2
To use USB sticks, just plug the stick into the port and find it in the list. Please note that Windows Mobile does not support NTFS formatted USB drives. Be sure to use FAT16 / 32. A USB hard drive requires a mandatory connection to an additional power source, and the data transfer rate in this case will be very slow.
Step 3
If you need to connect a keyboard, mouse or printer to your PDA, you need to install a specialized driver for usb.oscill. To do this, download the required driver, which is freely distributed on the Internet, on your desktop computer and unzip the files SIUSBXP.dll and SIUSBXP_LIB.dll. Find the file corresponding to the PDA version and create a copy of it in the Windows folder of the mobile device.
Step 4
Run the OscillCE.exe executable file to make the necessary changes to the PDA system registry entries, and restart the mobile device. Connect the dedicated USB-Host cable and connect the desired USB device.
Step 5
Wait for the unknown device to be detected and type siusbxp in the appropriate field of the system warning window. Confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the OK button, and specify USB1 in the "Port" line when configuring the connection in the shell. This action will lead to the use of the installed siusbxp driver and the correct operation of the USB device connected to the PDA.
