A rather hard mode of operation of a hair dryer for drying hair (shaking / moving / falling), leads to the fact that you have to contact a service center. But in some cases, after doing a series of simple manipulations, you can bring the hair dryer back to life on your own.
Necessary
- - electric socket;
- - hairdryer;
- - screwdriver;
- - tester.
Instructions
Step 1
Examine the hair dryer carefully for external damage. Only when they are not present, plug the appliance into an electrical outlet to determine the type of malfunction.
Step 2
Turn the switch of the hair dryer to one of the operating positions. If it does not turn on, first check if there is voltage in the network. Plug in a working table lamp in the same outlet. In the case when it does not work either, look into the electrical panel. It is possible that the circuit breaker has tripped (knocked out the plugs).
Step 3
Disassemble the hair dryer by first unplugging the cord. Remove all screws from the case and place the device on a flat surface. Divide it carefully into two mirrored halves, or separate the front of the hair dryer from the back. Remember or sketch: how the parts are located inside the case, as well as which screw is screwed in where (if the screws are of different sizes).
Step 4
Check for an open cord in the appliance. Call it with a tester and replace if necessary. Each time you turn on the hair dryer, it makes sense to inspect the outer insulation of the cord.
Step 5
Inspect the fuse and all contacts inside the hair dryer. Make sure they are intact or correct any violations that have arisen.
Step 6
Ring the switch and motor. If the engine malfunctions, contact the service center specialists.
Step 7
Pay attention to the components such as the air intake, heating element and fan. Hair, dust and lint can accumulate behind the air intake grille. Remove them by sweeping with a soft brush.
Step 8
Remove the removable filter (when present) and carefully, being careful not to damage the fine filter, dust it off. Carefully sweep the heating element with a brush. Act effortlessly.
Step 9
Examine the fan shaft for hairs. They can interfere with free rotation. Note the position of the fan on the shaft before removing it. Remove any hair that is wrapped around the shaft. Replace the fan and make sure it spins freely.
Step 10
Put all the parts in their original places and check all the contacts again. Assemble the hair dryer body and tighten the fixing screws. Plug in and turn on the hair dryer.
