The modern electronics market offers a huge number of TVs, among which it is very difficult to choose the right option. All the functions and characteristics that the device has are not always required, and most likely you will not even know about their availability. And vice versa - you can buy a box with a screen that will not fit the intended use.
Before making a choice, be sure to carefully read at least the basic functions and bells and whistles that exist today. Important aspects are size, color rendering and sound. Very often you are convinced that a huge TV is needed, although it will be located in an ordinary living room.
In order to analyze your needs and make the right choice, we recommend using the algorithm below.
- Examine the place of the planned installation of the TV very carefully. If you have a regular room in a two-room apartment, a screen larger than 25”would be a waste of money. The fact is that if the screen is large, the gaze will not be able to concentrate on the whole picture at once and you will snatch out the elements of the image. You quickly get tired of this and do not perceive all the beauty of the frame.
- There are LCD, LED and Plasma TVs on the market today. Of course, there is no unequivocal answer which option is better, and another whole article can be devoted to this question. As a compromise, we recommend choosing Direct LED TVs. This is the optimal quality for the home at the lowest cost.
- Responsibly approach the choice of the brand of the future purchase. Yes, of course, these days 90% of all equipment on the shelves is made in China, but it is made in different ways. We advise you to target leading manufacturers. Although their products are made in China, the quality level is always much higher. Consider brands like SONY, Toshiba, Samsung, Philips. The rest of the TVs are a quiz. You can buy a great device and save money. And you can get on a terrible option, which will either constantly break, or the implementation of functions will, to put it mildly, lame.
- Analyze the availability of the required interfaces. For a modern TV, it is vital to have an HDMI port, USB, good old RCA connectors (tulips), VGA can come in handy. But the SCART-type connector is practically not used anymore and there is no need to focus on it. Also remember that you will most likely need an analog antenna output. True, and this is already a relic of the past. It is very good if the TV has Wi-Fi.
- Check if there is 3D support. At the moment, we do not recommend overpaying for this feature. The implementation is far behind the requested cost, and in fact we get an expensive, not particularly applicable toy. Of course, in recent years, huge strides have been made towards perfection, but the function is needed rather by avid film fans and gadget lovers.

Smart TV is very important. What is Smart TV? This is the presence of a built-in operating system with a user interface in the TV. At the moment, Android is installed on TVs in the same way as on smartphones. This is a very useful feature, for which it is not a pity to overpay a couple thousand. It will definitely pay off. Be sure to see what the manufacturer means by Smart TV. For example, for SUPRA TVs on cheap models, this phrase refers to the presence of a built-in video player and photo paging. And retailers are willing to refer to this in the characteristics of the device as the presence of Smart TV.
- It is important to listen to the TV speakers. Often on inexpensive models these are "tweeters" that are completely inaudible.
- Look in the specifications for the maximum resolution of the TV. The higher it is, the higher the picture quality. But if the screen is huge and the resolution is low, the picture will be ugly and grainy.
