How to close iPhone photos using settings
This situation happens very often - you give a person to look at one photo on the screen of his iPhone, and he begins to scroll through the photo feed, examine the photo feed, including photos that are not supposed to be seen by outsiders.
The easiest option is to immediately snatch the phone out of the wrong hands. But it will look rude and raise additional questions. In addition, a person can already see something personal. Therefore, you should think over the situation in advance and close the photos in the settings using the "Guided Access" function. It is available in the hidden settings of iOS 8.
First of all, you need to enable "Guided Access". To do this, go to "Settings", select the item "General", the sub-item "Universal access". This section contains the same section "Access Guide". Set up password protection or use a fingerprint if necessary. In the future, to activate the function, it will be enough to press the "Home" button three times.
Then you need to configure the "Access Guide" as needed. This is done in the Photos application.

- Select "Off" for "Push".
Thus, now, when you give someone a phone, you can press the "Home" button three times and thus activate private access.
How to hide photos in notes
You can store photos in notes, protecting them with a password. This feature is available on iOS 9.3 models. This function is necessary for everyone who stores photos on Apple devices that are not intended for prying eyes. At the same time, close people will still be able to see the photographs.
There are minor changes in the new iOS version. There is still no "Hide Photo" function, but you can do it in a different, more tricky way. To keep a private photo, use the Notes application.
First of all, you need to perform the following sequence of actions:
- Go to settings
- Select a section of the note
- Move the switch to the "Disable" position in the item "Save photo to media"
After setting the necessary settings, go to the "Password" section and enter the code that will protect your notes and photos. It is also possible to close or open it with the Touch ID sensor.
IPhone users running iOS 9.3 often complain that it is impossible to set a password for a note, since the first lines of data are visible. Therefore, do not start a note containing confidential information with the password itself. Instead, enter a title or skip the first line.
To protect the photo from unwanted viewing, we put a password on the photo. This is done as follows:
- Create a new note, click on the "+" icon to add data and select photos;
- Click on "Take a photo or video" to take a private photo ";
- Go to the "Share" menu to specify "Block note";
- Enter your password and click on the padlock located in the upper right corner.
After these actions, the photo will become secret and will be stored in the note. To open this note, you will need to enter the set password and unlock with your fingerprint. Photos from this note can always be saved in the gallery or in another suitable application via the "Share" button. The only caveat is that any user can delete such a note even without entering a code. This method may seem complicated, but it is very reliable when you need to save a photo.
How to hide a photo through the gallery
Almost everyone has photos that are not meant for all eyes. It is better to hide candid pictures about a past fun party, a corporate event that went too hard, or a secret romantic date from strangers. iOS 8 provides several options, one of which, the most standard and simple one, is through the gallery. It is provided by the developers themselves.
The standard way implies the ability to hide photos from the main folders - "Moments", "Collections", "Years". The photo remains in the Albums folder. This, of course, is not a stealthy enough method, but it is suitable for most cases.
To hide a photo this way, open the photo you want to hide, press and hold your finger on it. Two buttons "Copy" and "Hide" will appear on the screen. Click on the second one. The device will show an agreement with all restrictions. Agree to them. The photo is now hidden from the main folders.
You can find the hidden photo in the Recently Hidden folder. It is displayed without a thumbnail, so you cannot see the photo this way. To put a photo back in place, go to the folder, open the photo you want, tap and hold your finger until a menu appears. Select the "Show" button that appears and the photo will return to its original place in the album.
How to hide photos from albums using apps
There are several apps that can help you hide the photo you want quickly and effortlessly. All of them are available in the official AppStore.
Private Photo Vault is a handy and secure application with which you can hide your photos. Snapshots are moved to the application itself and locked with a password. After they are moved to the app, remove them from the gallery. They will not disappear in Private Photo Vault and will remain safe and sound.
The application is equipped with several additional features. For example, this is protection and limiting the number of unsuccessful login attempts. If you try to break into a vault with photos, they will be erased after several unsuccessful attempts. In addition, a photo of the intruder will be taken.
Best Secret Folder is an encrypted application. It looks like a Utility application. No one will guess that behind this icon all secret photographs are hidden. After installing the program, a warning about the need to set a password will appear. You can send it to your mail or just write it down.
If the password is forgotten, it will be impossible to recover the photos or get the code again. Best Secret Folder allows you to export secret photos to a file storage or send to yourself by mail.
The simplest but most functional application is called KeepSafe. After you import your most valuable photos into it, set a four-character password. It will protect the pictures from penetration. Don't forget to remove the photos themselves from the gallery.
The disadvantage of the application is not strong enough protection. Four signs can be guessed even by random selection. But if the phone is always at hand, such protection will suffice - it will not be possible to hack the application in a short time.
