Not all Motorola phones can be connected to a computer as a removable disk. This makes it difficult to connect the device and you have to install the necessary drivers and programs for a successful connection. All Motorola phones have a CD with software in their kit, which can also be downloaded from the company's official website.

Instructions

Step 1

The program for working with Motorola phones is called Mobile Phone Tools and comes on a disc with the device. This utility allows you to use the phone as a modem, carry out operations with the phone book, keep the phone's diary, save messages, exchange files with a computer (except for files with the "system" attribute). Synchronization with a PC is carried out using a cable, Bluetooth or IrDA. If the program is installed correctly, the interface of the connected phone will be displayed on the monitor.

Step 2

Insert the software disc and wait for the installer to start automatically. Follow the instructions on the monitor. After the installation is complete, restart your computer, connect your phone, and launch Mobile Phone Tools.

Step 3

In order to edit system files, work with the device's memory and fill in the necessary programs, you need to download the P2k driver for the used Motorola model. Then run the installer application and complete the installation following the recommendations.

Step 4

Connect your phone to your computer. In the window that appears, select the item "No, not this time", click the "Next" button. Select "Install from a list or specific location", then specify the folder where you downloaded the drivers.

Step 5

Repeat the operation 3-4 times, after which you can work with the P2k Tools program.

Step 6

Go to "Control Panel" - "Modems". On the appeared item "Motorola", right-click and select "Properties" - the "Diagnostics" tab. Click Poll Modem. If a message appears that a response has been received, then you need to change the connection settings.

Step 7

Go to "Start" - "Run" - "regedit.exe". Go to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" branch, go to "SYSTEM" - "CurrentControlSet" - "Enum" - "USB" - "Vid_22b8 & Pid_4091" (or 3901). Select "Permissions" - "Everyone" - "Full Control". Go to the branch itself, where find another branch like "5 & 1d0adc3c & 11" Click on the Service parameter, which will change to "usbhub".

Step 8

Close the registry editor, unplug the cable for 5-10 seconds, then reconnect the phone. Launch P2KTools and try to connect.

Step 9

Specify the path to the drivers again. The connection is configured, now you can fully work with your phone.
