The camera in a smartphone is perhaps the most important part of it. Today, we can say with confidence that cameras on mobile devices have replaced conventional "soap boxes" and digital cameras. Yes, they are still far from expensive professional cameras, but for most users this is not necessary. Smartphone manufacturers are desperately trying to improve the capabilities of cameras on their devices: they increase the number of pixels, pump software, install additional camera modules. Last year was marked by one very interesting trend - dual cameras. Almost all top manufacturers have equipped their flagships (and not only them) with main cameras, consisting of two modules. Doogee company could not stand aside. From the article, you will learn about the Doogee X30 Young-affordable smartphone with 4 cameras.

Recently, this third-tier manufacturer has been frequenting new solutions. Moreover, the lineup is being replenished not only with budget smartphones (Doogee X10), but also with higher-end options, stylish and productive (Doogee BL5000 and Mix). Doogee X30 is positioned as one of the most affordable phablets. Everything here is according to the canons of the lower class genre in 2017: a pair of cameras on both sides of the smartphone, a large screen of not the highest resolution, a good battery and a body made of assorted plastic and iron. What becomes the main advantage of the Doogee X30 is the price. What other company offers to buy a phablet for 4000 rubles?

Contents of delivery

Doogee X30 is packed in a black box of acceptable quality. The smartphone, packed in a bag, is waiting for us first, placed on a cardboard backing. Under this very substrate is the rest of the package, which includes a proprietary power adapter, a microUSB cable, as well as a film and a silicone bumper as bonuses. A typical set of a modern budget smartphone.

Design

As for the design, the smartphone looks very nice: the smoothed lines, the metal body, the rounded 2.5D glass - all the standards of a beautiful smartphone are met. The manufacturer made sure that every buyer of the Doogee X30 Young could choose a smartphone that would be as close to him as possible.

First impression

At first, the smartphone seems very massive and bulky for a 5.5-inch screen diagonal. In fact, its dimensions are quite ordinary, average, it is even smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus, if you do not take into account the thickness of the case of 9.8 mm.

Precisely because of the thickness, as well as considerable weight (193 grams), Doogee X30 feels like a bulky "shovel", which is extremely inconvenient to use with one hand.

For a representative of the ultra-budget segment, the smartphone is assembled perfectly. It has a metal frame and a plastic back panel, which, surprisingly, turns out to be removable (in the same X10, a similar concept is used). It is under it that the slots for SIM-cards and microSD memory are hidden. There is also a battery that can be easily removed.

At the bottom there is a microUSB port and a microphone, on the top there is an audio port. The speaker is located at the bottom of the rear panel, which is not practical, but quite common for smartphones of this class.

The entire front panel is covered with 2.5D glass, which is also framed by a thin plastic frame. There are no flaws in such a complex design, everything is very tightly fitted, there are no backlashes or gaps.

The case itself is non-marking, and it is not easy to scratch it.

Screen

Doogee X30 received a 5.5-inch IPS-screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The viewing angles are not bad, there is no distortion under slopes. The stock of brightness is quite large, it is quite comfortable to use the device outdoors. There is no oleophobic coating, which was expected given the class of the device.

Multi-touch recognizes up to 2 simultaneous touches, in general, there are no serious problems with the sensitivity of the sensor. It is possible to work with the Doogee X30 screen, but, of course, the sensations are not comparable to more expensive solutions. The same Doogee BL5000, for example, is much more interesting. The main disadvantage is the resolution, which does not allow you to enjoy the picture.

Performance

Inside, the X30 has a quad-core MediaTek MTK6580A with a frequency of 1.3 GHz. This is the most budgetary chip, very common in the segment of low-cost smartphones. Micromax Canvas Power 2 Q398, for example, is also equipped with it. You shouldn't expect much from such a processor. Even on simple tasks, the device slows down.

Interfaces, navigation and sound

Doogee X30 works only in 3G networks. The smartphone supports 2 SIM cards in micro and nano format. Of the wireless interfaces, we have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. The GPS system is used for navigation. Doogee X30 needs time to find satellites, this process takes a long time during a cold start. Well, microUSB is used the old fashioned way to recharge a smartphone and connect to a computer.

Unfortunately, the Doogee X30 did not receive a fingerprint scanner. This is even somewhat surprising - today there are fingerprints in cheaper solutions. The sound is good, both from the main speaker and from the earpiece. The smartphone is really loud, but the sound lacks clarity. Although in this segment, no smartphone can offer the best.

OS

The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, which is still a rarity in the segment of ultra-budget "Chinese". The proprietary shell does not change the overall design of the clean version of the system, but it adds a "cat" to the desktop and makes many other changes, both pleasant and not so.

Doogee developers changed the window of installed applications, changed icons in the quick launch curtain and settings, and also added InfoHub, a feed with news from leading resources. You can go to it with a simple swipe to the right from the main desktop.

A long press opens a rich menu of launcher settings, with which you can adjust the size of icons and fonts, add animation, change the theme and wallpaper, customize gestures, and so on. There is where to take a walk, but there are not so many really useful options.

In the system settings, in addition to the standard tools, there are several menu items that have not been translated from English (thanks - not Chinese) to Russian. These include many gesture options and a split screen function. The latter is activated by moving the window thumbnail to the top of the multitasking menu, it works with almost any program.

Cameras

Doogee X30 received a twin main camera of 8 + 8 megapixels with f / 2.2 aperture and LED flash. The pixels of the photosensor were increased to 1, 12 microns, which in theory provides an increase in the amount of perceived light, a decrease in noise and the ability to shoot objects in motion with a minimum of blur.

Unnatural colors during the day, a lot of noise and distortion when there is a lack of light, problems with white balance and dynamic range - all this discourages the desire to shoot.

The front camera, which is also dual, 5 + 5 Mp, cannot please with anything. You can get a more or less tolerant selfie only outdoors on a bright sunny day.

Autonomy

The smartphone received a 3,360 mAh battery, which turned out to be more than enough for a day and a half of active use of the device. In the average mode, it can be two daylight hours. In the power consumption settings, the standard statistics are not displayed, but the screen felt especially active for 4-5 hours, which is quite a good indicator.

Below is a video review of the doogee x30.

Summary

Overall, Doogee presented a pretty good smartphone for those who want a big screen at a low price. Whatever the disadvantages of the Doogee X30, in the price segment up to 5,000 rubles, you simply cannot buy the best phablet with a 5.5-inch screen. The model does not have the most powerful processor, but the order with the RAM and permanent memory. Having equipped a budget device with four cameras, the manufacturer managed to stand out on paper, interested in the characteristics, but in practice there is no talk of any photo slope. The camera quartet is here purely to draw attention to the device. Quite acceptable autonomy, software that works without a hitch, good build - you would not want more from an affordable smartphone.

Doogee X30 in the official store on AliExpress now costs about 4,300 rubles. Taking into account such a low price, he can find his audience, because if you put the overall slowness of work and a bad camera on one side of the scales, then on the second side you can safely put a reliable case with a metal frame, long-term work without recharging and the freshest Android "out of the box ".
