Since many phones have an operating system similar to those on computers we are used to, you can try connecting a keyboard or mouse to them.
Of course, it is supposed to work on touchscreen smartphones in this way, without other input devices, but it is worth trying to connect a keyboard or mouse at least for the sake of interest.
Many Android devices allow USB peripherals to be connected. But a full-size USB connector is rarely found on a tablet or phone, so you need a USB OTG (on-the-go) cable, which are sold in almost any cell phone store today and are very inexpensive. Restrictions that you may encounter when connecting a keyboard or mouse to your phone via USB may be as follows:
- the phone may not support this device, since there is no corresponding driver in its firmware;
- the power of the device may be insufficient to connect such an external device. In this case, you can try using a USB-Hub with additional power.
Another way to connect a keyboard or mouse is to use wireless peripherals that work over Bluetooth. Today, it is difficult to find an Android phone or tablet without the ability to connect to it via Bluetooth, because manufacturers expect that Bluetooth headsets will be widely used with their phones. However, check the instructions for connecting a specific mouse or keyboard. There will be practically no problems with the phone - you need to activate Bluetooth and find peripherals.
Helpful Hint: If your wireless keyboard or mouse does not work over Bluetooth, try plugging the USB adapter into an OTG cable connected to your phone or tablet.
