Millions of people around the world have chosen Viber for free calling and text messaging. To communicate, you need a smartphone with the Viber application installed and Internet access. The smartphone model does not matter, the main thing is support for any of the popular mobile platforms, be it iOS, Android or Windows Phone. Despite the fact that the developers have done a good job on the sound design of the program, you may want to change the standard sound of an incoming call to a melody that is more familiar to you.
Android smartphone settings
If you are the owner of an Iphone or "Windows Phone", do not be confused by this item, because the application interface is logically the same for all platforms, and minor differences can only be in the external design of the application.
In order to change the call in Viber, launch the application on your smartphone by clicking on the corresponding icon. When launched, you will be taken to the main screen of the program, which will display the contacts available for making calls in Viber. To go to the settings, click on the icon located in the lower right corner of the smartphone screen.
You are now in the application settings menu. Each tab is responsible for different features of the program, which you can change to your liking. You will have access to settings for privacy, notifications, calls and messages, screen, etc.
Do not be afraid to experiment, you can return to the standard settings at any time by clicking the corresponding tab in the menu.
To change the ringtone, click the "Notifications" tab.
By default, the standard ringtone for the application is set as a call in Viber. In order to change the call, put a "tick" in the "Use system sounds" tab.
Selecting a melody
Remaining in the "Notifications" section, click the "Ringtone" tab. Now all sounds and melodies downloaded on your smartphone will be available for you to choose.
You can preview any melody from the presented list by clicking its name.
Now the smartphone will "offer" you to confirm or cancel the selection. If you are satisfied with the result achieved and a suitable call has been found, confirm your choice by clicking on the "Yes" button.
Now your favorite ringtone is set as the incoming call sound in Viber, and you can minimize the app by pressing the Home button, or go back to settings and continue changing the app according to your preferences.
Tip: set a different ringtone in Viber from the one you use for incoming calls on the cellular network. This will allow you to determine by ear that you are being called on Viber.
