Viber is a free program that allows you to make calls, send messages and images to other network users directly from devices operating on various platforms. A distinctive feature of the application is its simplicity, functionality and free-of-charge, thanks to which the program gained wide popularity.
Instructions
Step 1
Viber is available for installation on most platforms that are currently available for both mobile devices and desktops and laptops. The app is available for smartphones that run on Android, iOS, Windows Phone, BlackBerry OS, Symbian and Bada. For computers, the program can be installed on Windows, Linux and OS X.
Step 2
When installed on a mobile device, the application synchronizes with the device's address book and integrates into its functionality. To make a call, just select a number in your address book, and then confirm the action by clicking on the Viber icon. Voice communication through the program is carried out via Wi-Fi and 3G wireless networks, while the fact of the call is free, and the user can pay only for Internet traffic.
Step 3
At the first launch of the program, the user is prompted to bind the phone number to the service, and then confirm the action using the sent activation code. The Viber connection service is free. The application interface implements the ability not only to make a voice call, but also to exchange text messages, captured video, audio recordings and photographs.
Step 4
The application screen is divided into three sections. Tabs at the bottom of the display give the user access to recent messages, calls and contacts. Also at the bottom there is a button for calling up the keyboard and opening more options. Emoticons are also available in the interface. The application can be launched on tablets, but the function of making voice calls on these devices is not active.
Step 5
Viber can be downloaded and installed using the default services available on mobile devices: AppStore, Play Store or Market for iOS, Android and Windows Phone, respectively. To install an application, just enter its name in the program manager and click "Install".
Step 6
To install Viber on your computer, download the installer from the official website of the program. To do this, open a browser window and go to the viber.com resource. In the central part of the window, click the Desktop icon, and then Get Viber. The download of the installer will begin, and after the download is complete, it will be available for launch. If you want to install Viber for OSX or Linux, click the Read More link located above the green Get Viber button. From the options provided, select your operating system, and then the appropriate download option.
