Many Android smartphones support the installation of custom sound files as ringtones. The order of the ringtone selection depends on the phone manufacturer.

Instructions

Step 1

Place the file (MP3 format) in the audio folder of your smartphone's file system. The name of this folder depends on the platform version. Most often it is called Ringtones (with a capital letter) and is located at the root of the removable SD card. If there is no such folder, create it and place the files there.

Step 2

If your Android smartphone is from any manufacturer other than Samsung, first unlock your phone and exit to the home screen by pressing the back button (with a curved arrow) as many times as required. Select the menu item corresponding to the settings (its location depends on the model of the device and the version of the Android platform). If a full screen menu appears, scroll to Sounds & Display, Sound, or similar. Select this item. If the menu subsections are on the left and the sections on the right, select a subsection with the same name.

Step 3

Select a sub-item of the menu, which may be called "Ringtones", "Ringtones", "Melodies", etc. Sometimes this item is located at the top level of the settings menu, and not in a submenu. A list of files located in the ringtone folder will appear. Select the file you want and it will become a ringtone.

Step 4

In the same way, you can select a melody for the alarm clock, only the folder will have to be named not Ringtones, but Alarms, and the item for selecting a melody can be found in the alarm control menu (called by clicking on the clock located on one of the pages of the main screen, or the "Clock" icon in the list applications). Here you can set a melody only after one of the alarm clock control programs has been created by clicking on it and selecting the item "Ringtone", "Melody" or similar.

Step 5

Many Samsung Android phones have a different way of setting the ringtone. Launch your stock music player (third-party will not work). Start playing the desired melody. Press the hardware or on-screen (depending on the phone) menu selection button - there are several parallel lines on it. In the menu that appears, select "Set as", and in the submenu - "Ringtone" or "Ringtone".

Step 6

Call your smartphone, but do not answer the call. Make sure the melody of your choice is playing.
