It's no secret that older speakers sometimes produce much better sound quality than average computer speakers. But, unfortunately, such speakers have a different plug, and therefore, when connecting them, you need to take into account a number of subtleties.
It is necessary
amplifier, old speakers, suitable plug, wire for 3.5 mm jacks, computer, (splitter)
Instructions
Step 1
First, purchase an amplifier, since the sound card in your computer is not compatible with such speakers. Look at home if you have a tape recorder or turntable that matches these speakers. The main thing is that the speaker plug fits the amplifier. Find the right nest empirically (stick in and see if it fits or not).
Step 2
If the plug does not fit anywhere, change it to the one that we connect to the amplifier. For this, it is better to contact the appropriate master.
Step 3
Now take a wire that fits a 3.5mm jack. This could be a headphone wire.
Step 4
If you immediately connect a sound card to the amplifier, there is a good chance that the input may burn out. Therefore, first connect, for example, an old player and see if everything is in order and if there is sound.
Step 5
If everything is normal, use the indicated headphone cord to connect the output from the sound card (usually it is located on the back of the unit from the computer or on the side of the laptop, this is a round green socket) and the amplifier. On the old amplifier, we are looking for a suitable socket empirically, as in paragraph one.
Step 6
Sometimes the speakers are in the living room and the computer is in another room. Purchase a few meters of the appropriate cable with an adapter, then this problem will be easily solved.
Step 7
Pay attention to the sound quality, if there is hum and hiss, change the amplifier - you can just buy another old tape recorder or a stereo system from your hands.
Step 8
When connecting several speakers at once, purchase a splitter to the music center that will allow you to do this.
