If your cell phone falls into the water, do not rush to leave it there and run after a new one. If urgent measures are taken to restore it, it may still work without interruption for many years.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the cover from the device and disconnect the battery. After that, remove the SIM card and memory card from it. Put them to dry at room temperature, in no case try to speed up the process with a hair dryer or radiator. If the phone falls into the water while charging (for example, it was dropped into an indoor aquarium), first disconnect the charger from the mains, and only then get the device out of the water. If the machine has fallen into water and is connected to a computer, disconnect the cable from the computer before removing it from the water.
Step 2
Buy a dedicated screwdriver set for disassembling cell phones. Ordinary screwdrivers will not work - they will only spoil the slots, and it will become very difficult to disassemble the device. Then everything depends on the form factor of the mobile phone. If it is a candy bar, its disassembly does not require any special explanation. If you have a slider or a clamshell in front of you, be sure to find on the Internet detailed and illustrated instructions for disassembling the device of this particular model.
Step 3
If your phone has been exposed to salt water, rinse all parts except the display and the battery with distilled water. For an apparatus that has been drowned in fresh water, this step can be skipped. Then place all the parts, also except for the display and the battery, in pure alcohol (vodka is not good) and keep it there for several hours. After taking them out of alcohol, let them dry, which will take a day. The use of a hair dryer and other heating devices is also not allowed here.
Step 4
Reassemble the phone in reverse order, insert the SIM card, memory card and battery. If the water was salty, it is advisable to replace the latter. Turn on the device and check its operation. During the next month of using a mobile phone, you will find out for sure whether it began to work with malfunctions, or whether the quality of its work has not changed.
