Step 1
A subwoofer is a special loudspeaker that is designed to reproduce low-frequency sounds. Four types of acoustic design are used in the car: strip type, closed (CC), infinite acoustic screen and case with phase inverter (FC). To install the woofer and choose the acoustic design, pay attention to the car body and its type.

All cars are conventionally divided into 3 classes: with a trunk isolated from the passenger compartment (sedan type), open body (convertible), combined interior and luggage compartment volume (hatchback and station wagon). In a car with a sedan-like body, it is quite difficult to install a subwoofer. If you put the subwoofer in the trunk, only low frequencies will be heard in the cabin.

The rear shelf is most suitable for installing the woofer head in sedan-type cars. Although in such a car, all methods of acoustic design can be used. In addition to the rear shelf, install the subwoofer in the rear seat armrest. In this case, make sure that the holes are large and do not obstruct the woofer cone. Otherwise, you can forget about good and high-quality bass.
Step 5
In cars with a hatchback body, installing a woofer is as easy as shelling pears. Use "free air" here, as well as any kind of acoustic design for the woofer. When choosing subwoofers, keep in mind that subwoofers with 10-inch woofers sound more melodic, prettier and more accurate than their large colleagues.
Step 6
It is very difficult to install a woofer in a car with a convertible body, since there is very little space for it. However, achieve good results in terms of sound pressure with the help of FC (enclosure with bass reflex) or PC (band-pass acoustics). When the volume of acoustics is very limited, also use closed type acoustics. Also use two woofers, and for more impact, install a rigid plate at some distance in front of them.
