Under the right conditions, an iPhone battery can last several hundred charge cycles. If your smartphone runs out of power too quickly during a call, then you will most likely need to replace the battery.
Necessary
- - Phillips screwdriver;
- - tweezers;
- - flat screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn off your phone and unplug the charger. Straighten a paper clip or use a needle to pull out the SIM card slot. Remove the SIM card and set it aside.
Step 2
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the bottom of the phone. To find where they are, look for small depressions or holes in the case.
Step 3
Insert a flat head screwdriver into the slot between the top cover of the phone and the case. Then gently lift the cover up. Then slide a screwdriver all the way between the cover and the body to release the latches. Try not to make any sudden movements, as the screen is connected by a ribbon cable to the body of the device. Holding the top with one hand, detach the ribbon cable.
Step 4
Then place the top cover vertically on the table. This will give you better access to the rest of the wires. Use tweezers to disconnect the wire labeled "2". Using the same tweezers, lift the plastic strip to disconnect the wire with the number “3” on it. The cover can be bent 90 degrees and the wire can be disconnected. Once you've disconnected the three wires, you can tilt the top of the phone to the side.
Step 5
Remove the eight Phillips screws that secure the phone's motherboard. This must be done in a specific order. First remove the two screws that connect the board to the rest of the case. Finally, unscrew the screws under the Do Not Remove sticker. Then disconnect the wire labeled "4".
Step 6
Lift the motherboard of the phone. Do this carefully so as not to damage the wire between the board and the case. After disconnecting the wire, set the board aside.
Step 7
Use tweezers to pull the camera out of the recess in the housing. The camera is also connected to the body with a wire, so you will need to disconnect that as well.
Step 8
Also use tweezers to remove all numbered wires connecting the motherboard to the case. Then gently pull it up. If it doesn’t work, check to see if you have removed all the screws. Once you've removed the motherboard, proceed with replacing the battery.
Step 9
Using some force, disconnect the wire from the battery to the case. Then insert a new battery. Follow all the previous steps in reverse order. Check if all screws are well tightened before final assembly of the phone. Turn on the phone to test its functionality. Fully charge and discharge your phone several times to calibrate the new battery.
