Often people use their favorite songs as ringtones for mobile phones. In addition, it is better to prepare certain files in advance for launching on a mobile device.

Instructions
Step 1
Use Sound Forge to process your music tracks. Download the installation files for this application. Install its components. Be sure to restart your computer after completing these operations.
Step 2
Launch the Sound Forge main menu. Open the File menu and create a new project. Add the desired sound file to the project by pressing the Ctrl + I keys. Wait while the file is analyzed and displayed in the visualization strip.
Step 3
Now change the length of the audio track. To do this, select the area you want to cut with the left mouse button. Click the Delete button. To prevent abrupt transitions during playback, it is recommended to delete the ending or opening section of the track.
Step 4
Some mobile phones only work with mp3 format. If the desired track is stored in a different file type, convert it. After trimming the file, press the Ctrl and S keys.
Step 5
Wait for the save options dialog to appear. Select the type of the future file. In your case, this will be the mp3 parameter. Specify the directory where you want to save the resulting track.
Step 6
Please note that mobile phone players do not support high bit rate. Specify the maximum value of this characteristic and select one of the modes in the program window.
Step 7
After converting and saving the file, move it to the mobile phone memory or to a flash card. Refresh your phone's music player playlist. Start the track.

You can also use Total Video Converter to trim a music track and convert it to mp3 format. If you prefer free software and work in a Windows environment, use Movie Maker. You can download it from the official Microsoft website.
