The mobile phone is not only a means of voice communication. One of its important functions is working with e-mail. But before you start using this feature, you need to set up a mailbox on your phone.

Step 1
There are several ways to access email from a mobile phone. It is a standard phone application, mobile web browser and third-party mailbox applications.
Step 2
Run the standard application to configure it. To do this, go to the phone menu, select "Messages", and then "E-mail" (depending on the model, the items may be different). Create a new account.
Step 3
Enter your email address and name that will appear in outgoing emails. Select the type of incoming mail server (pop or imap) and enter its address. Enter the address of the outgoing mail server. Enter your username and password.

Set the settings for incoming messages: download messages in full or only headers, leave messages on the mail server after downloading, or delete. Specify the number of mail messages to download to your phone and the maximum message size. Choose one of the secure login options or leave the connection unsecured. If necessary, change the value of the inbound server port.
Step 5
Set the settings for outgoing emails. Optionally include a signature for every email you send. Also, select one of the secure connection options, or leave it unsecured. If necessary, change the value of the outgoing server port.
Step 6
Enter a name for the account you are creating. Click the "Save" button to confirm. Now you can write a letter, check your mail, while the downloaded letters will be saved in the "Inbox" folder.
Step 7
The work and configuration of the mailbox can be carried out using a mobile web browser. Most of the popular email services have an Internet interface for various mobile devices. Run the application and go to the address of the website that provides postal services. Depending on the type of mobile device, the corresponding version of the web interface will automatically open. It allows you to fully work with your mailbox.
Step 8
Working with e-mail from a mobile phone can be carried out using third-party programs. There are both universal applications and those developed directly by mail service providers (for example, yandex.ru, mail.ru, etc.). Setting them up is similar to setting up standard phone applications.
