Step 1
First download the correct firmware for your router. Refine its model (B1 or D1). Go to the official file storage at ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/DIR-100/Firmware/ and download the required software version for the router. Use the firmware version recommended by your ISP.
Step 2
Connect the equipment to AC power. Connect the LAN port of the router to the network card of your computer using a network cable. In turn, connect the provider's cable to the WAN port. Turn on your computer and router. Wait for both devices to boot. Launch an Internet browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in its address bar. Fill in the Login and Password fields and press the Enter key.
Step 3
Now go to the Maintenance menu and select Firmware Update in the left column. Click the Search button and specify the downloaded firmware file. Wait for the software update of your router. Restart this device by unplugging the power cable for 1-2 minutes.
Step 4
After the router is fully loaded, re-enter its web interface. Configure the WAN menu. Use the data provided by your provider for this. Usually, you need to enter settings similar to those you use when connecting your computer directly to the Internet.
Step 5
Go to LAN menu and enable DHCP and NAT functions. This will ensure the stable operation of several computers within the local network. Connect other PCs to the LAN ports of the router. Reboot this device. After a while, the network cards of all computers will automatically receive new IP addresses. Make sure the PCs connected to the router can access the Internet.
