Pocket personal computers (PDAs) are used to access document editing and e-mail messaging anytime, anywhere. Setting up the Internet on such devices is somewhat different from similar parameters in modern smartphones, which is due to the peculiarities of the installed operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
If your PDA has a GSM module, i.e. installed SIM-card, the Internet setting will be carried out directly through the menu of the device. If your PDA runs on Windows Mobile operating system, go to the "Start" - "Settings" menu to configure the connection. In the item that appears, call the "Connection" section, after going to which, click on the "Connection" shortcut.
Step 2
You will be presented with a choice of Internet activation options. Click on the My ISP button and select "Add dial-up connection". If there is no ISP section, click on "Advanced" - "Select a network" - My ISP.
Step 3
Enter a name for your internet connection in Latin letters. After that click on the "Modem" section and select "GPRS". Click the Next button to select the APN entry point. Enter the access point through which the connection will be made (for example, internet.beeline.ru or internet, depending on your mobile operator). Click "Next" and, if necessary, fill in the "Username" and "Password" fields. Click "Finish" and reboot the device to apply the changes.
Step 4
If your phone does not have the Internet, the connection will be made through your computer. To do this, activate the Bluetooth function of your device through "Start" - "Bluetooth" - "Settings", and then enable "Discovery", "Security" and "Network access". Also activate the Bluetooth PAN mode and set up the Internet connection according to the instructions for devices with SIM support. Reboot your device.
Step 5
To set up a connection on your computer, turn on Bluetooth, click on the "Start" - "Devices and Printers" button. After that, right-click on the icon of your device and select "Authorize" after sending an authorization request from the PDA itself. Setting up an Internet connection via a PC is now complete.
