Necessary

  • - smartphone of any brand and model
  • - possibly a memory card

Instructions

Step 1

If you really want to install a new toy or application, but the phone memory is no longer enough, there are several options. It is impossible to physically increase the amount of memory that is built into the phone, but many smartphones (for example, new devices based on Android or Nokia on Symbian) allow you to install and transfer applications to the memory card. If it is already filled out, you can purchase a larger card and transfer all files and applications from the old one. Remove the card from the phone, pay attention to the markings. The main thing is to buy memory of the same format (microSD, for example). Such cards are sold in almost any cell phone store, they are inexpensive.

Step 2

If the transfer of applications to the memory card is impossible, or the installation of additional memory is not provided at all by the hardware capabilities of the phone, you will have to do it in a different way. First, install the file manager for your phone (for Android you can find it in the Android Market, for Symbian - at allnokia.ru). Use it to dig into the phone's memory, delete unnecessary photos and videos (if any), look for temporary files (tmp folders), or data folders left over from already deleted applications. If enough memory has not been freed, proceed to the next step.

Step 3

Take a look at the list of installed applications and games. Remember how often you use this or that program. We can say with 100% probability that most of the applications and games are not used by you at all. Feel free to delete them, and then do not forget to check with the file manager if there are any temporary files left in the phone memory. Usually games "weigh" the most (due to graphics and sound), they need to be removed first. If any of the deleted applications are needed again, you can always reinstall it; on modern smartphones, this is done quickly and easily.
