Step 1
Make sure you have the correct drivers installed on your sound card. If you have a regular computer, turn over its system unit and locate the sound card connectors. There may be two, three, or even more than 5 - it all depends on its type. You need green and pink.

Also pay attention to the side walls of the case and its front panel - many modern computer models provide headphone jacks so that you do not have to turn the system unit over when connecting devices. Many keyboards and monitors can also serve as adapter devices for connecting headphones and microphones.
Step 3
Connect the microphone wire to the computer connector with the corresponding icon, insert the headphone plug into the connector next to it. Observe the color scheme of the connection, or pay attention to the labels and pictograms, they must correspond. Usually the microphone connector is to the right, however, everything may depend on the model of the sound adapter of your computer.
Step 4
If you have a laptop, locate the sound card connectors on the front of the case. They can also be located on the right and left side of the device. Also, observe the color scheme and follow the instructions for the legend of icons and labels, do not forget to install the device driver.
Step 5
In the "Control Panel" menu, find the item settings for sounds and audio devices, change them as you wish and check their correctness, for example, by making a trial in a special service of the Skype application and so on. If the device does not work, check the sound card volume in the notification area, program volume settings, and a special switch on the Genius headphone wires, which is available on some models.
