Everyone knows that you cannot make a full-fledged beautiful photo without a good camera and, of course, a flash. Only a professional who is fluent in all the equipment and knows all the nuances of this business can make truly high-quality personnel. Very often, when shooting, the photographer has to synchronize the operation of the camera with an external flash, and then he is faced with the questions of how to set up the flash, how to remove it from the camera, at what angle it is better to place it, etc.
Instructions
Step 1
There are a lot of models of cameras in the modern world, respectively, they are all diverse and individual, but the principles of operation are still similar. Consider the Nikon flash setup for the same brand of cameras, which are among the most popular today. First of all, I would like to note that the purpose of the setup is to respond to the external flash to the glow of the built-in camera, and for this take the camera and open the menu. Find the section "Custom setting menu" and go to it.
Step 2
Find the "Bracketing / Flash" subsection and select it. Click on “Built-in Flash”. By doing this, you will select the settings for the built-in flash. Open "Commander mode". This is the built-in flash control mode and should be configured first.
Step 3
Set the group A and working channel for the internal flash to match the channel of the external device. So, for example, if you are using an external Nikon Speedlight SB-600, then the working channel on the camera should be set to the third one, etc.
Step 4
Proceed to setting up an external flash. Press the "zoom" and "-" buttons at the same time, thereby calling up the device settings menu. Scroll with the buttons "-" and "+" the items of the opened menu. Select "Off" and a zigzag arrow will be drawn next to it.
Step 5
Locate the Mode button and use it to set the external flash to On. Thus, by pressing the indicated button, the wireless contact of your camera and an external device (flash) is turned on.
Press again the keys "-" and "zoom" at the same time by such actions you will return to the initial position of the camera with the ready-made settings that have just been set. In addition, you can return to the starting position, that is, you can simply exit the menu by turning off the camera and then turning it on again.
Step 6
The settings are automatically saved. If you need to enter the menu again, turn off and then turn on the flash, or hold down the above keys.
Check that the display shows information about the working channel and group A. At this point you can start taking pictures, your camera and flash are synchronized and ready to fire.
