Necessary

  • - AA battery or accumulator;
  • - holder with contacts for the battery;
  • -magnet;
  • -1 meter of wire with enamel insulation (diameter 0.8-1 mm);
  • -0.3 meters of bare wire (diameter 0.8-1 mm).

Instructions

Step 1

Start assembling the motor by winding the coil. Take a wire with enamel insulation. You will get an even winding if you use a suitable base for winding, such as a battery. Leave 5cm free on each end of the wire and wind 15-20 turns around the base. Do not try to wrap very tightly.

Step 2

Carefully remove the coil from the frame, do not damage the shape. Wrap the free ends of the wire around the resulting turns. Leave about 1cm of wire to place the coil on the holders. Make sure that the turns that are obtained when winding the ends of the wire are exactly opposite each other. In order for the current to pass freely from the holder to the coil and the motor works well, remove the insulation from the ends of the coil wire. Use a sharp knife to remove the top of the insulation so that the bottom half of the end of the wire remains in the insulation. Be careful! The bare ends of the wire should be up at both ends of the coil.

Step 3

Make the holders for the coil from bare wire. These are the loops of wire that support the coil. Take 15cm of wire, just wrap a piece of wire around a small nail, for example.

Step 4

Use the battery holder as the base of the motor. It is heavy enough that the engine does not vibrate during operation.

Step 5

Assemble all engine parts together. Attach the spool holders to an AA battery or rechargeable battery. Insert the battery into the holder. Place the coil on the holders. Now put a magnet on the battery and push the coil. The electric motor started up.

Step 6

To stop a running motor, simply open the circuit. For example, remove the spool from the holders.
