Step 1
Connect an answering machine to your phone. There are two types of autoresponders: built-in and standalone. They are about equally easy to use. The only disadvantage of separate answering machines is the need to use additional telephone cables for the connection. These two groups of answering machines can also be divided into 2 more: digital and analog. Analog ones, they are cassette ones, are a thing of the past, almost completely supplanted by their digital counterparts, which are much more convenient to use.
Step 2
Turn on the answering machine to the power supply, then connect it to the telephone network, and there is already a wire from the telephone in it. In the case of a built-in answering machine, everything is much simpler. Since it is built into the phone, you only need one phone cable. To record a greeting message on your answering machine, do the following.
Step 3
Decide on the text of your welcome message to record on your answering machine. It should be short and clear. A person should understand who he called and that at the moment he is not talking with the owner of the apartment, but hears his recorded voice. If you have an analogue answering machine, press the Rec button to start recording.
Step 4
If you are using a digital model of an answering machine, then go to the main menu and select "Record a message". Dictate the text, save it, listen. If it doesn't suit you, rewrite it, then save your changes. Now any person who calls you, if he does not find you at home, will listen to this message.
Step 5
Follow the steps below if you want to leave a message on the other party's answering machine. Dial the phone number, listen to the greeting message. As a rule, it should not last long (no more than 10-15 seconds), then wait for the beep. Leave a message and hang up.
