You dropped your phone and smashed its display. This can happen to anyone. Fortunately, replacing a phone screen is relatively straightforward. All you need is the display itself and a dedicated screwdriver set.
Necessary
- New display
- Special screwdriver set
- Small parts jar
Instructions
Step 1
Don't panic even if your phone costs several thousand rubles. The display is not the most expensive part of it. Screens for most phones are sold for about 300 rubles. Only very large displays cost about a thousand rubles.
Step 2
Take your phone to a store that sells cell phone parts. Show it to the seller, and he will immediately tell you which screen you need and whether it is in stock.
Step 3
If you are going to change the display yourself, and you do not have special screwdrivers, purchase them in the same store. Never try to open the phone with an ordinary screwdriver. You will ruin the splines on the screws, after which it will be impossible to unscrew them.
Step 4
Do not put the screen in your pocket - it is very fragile. Carry it home in a bag.
Step 5
If you even doubt your abilities a little, it is better to immediately give the phone and display to the nearest workshop. You will spend more money on its replacement, but the result will be guaranteed. If your phone has a touchscreen, then even an experienced home craftsman should not take on the replacement of the display in it.
Step 6
Enter in the search engine a query like: "how to replace display in (phone model name)". Find an illustrated step-by-step guide to replacing the display on your phone.
Step 7
Select the bit from the set of screwdrivers that matches the type of slot on the screws used in your phone. Place it in the screwdriver handle, and then immediately close the dial box to avoid losing the rest of the bits. Turn off the phone, remove the SIM card and battery. Put them in a place where they won't get lost.
Step 8
When disassembling the phone, follow all the recommendations of the manual exactly. All parts that are small enough should not be placed on the table, but in a jar. Otherwise, you can brush them off the table onto the floor with one careless movement. This is especially true for screws. Be sure to write down which lengths of screws correspond to which holes in the phone.
Step 9
In most cases, replacing the display is carried out without soldering, so a soldering iron is not needed. Do this carefully so as not to crush the new screen.
Step 10
Assemble the phone in reverse order. Be careful to reinstall all parts removed from it.
Step 11
Place the SIM card and battery back into the phone. Turn it on and make sure the new display works. Also make sure that all buttons are still working in it, as well as vibration, microphone and speaker.
