The Honor 8A is a smartphone presented by Honor as a high-performance budget device. But is it really so and is it worth buying?
Design
Honor 8A is not much different in appearance from previous models of this line. These are the typical small bezels at the edges of the screen, the cutout for the front camera looks like a drop. Despite the fact that the case is completely made of plastic, its surface is very pleasant to the touch. It is non-slip and sits comfortably in your hand.
The rear panel has an unusual structure. The right side is covered with a glossy surface, and the left (the one that is covered from the camera side) is matte. Do not forget that the glossy surface is very easily soiled and leaves on itself fingerprints, marks, etc. The matte side is completely scratched if you carry it in your pocket with change or keys. Therefore, it is best to carry your phone in a case. Unfortunately, it is not included in the kit, and you have to purchase it separately.
The fingerprint scanner is located on the back and is fast enough. Unlocking takes place literally in a second. The device does not read wet fingers.
Camera
There is only one 13MP lens as the main camera. There is also a fake lens, it does not matter.
During the day, the photos come out quite good: high sharpness, preservation of the color palette. Due to the low dynamic range, additional unnecessary shadows may still appear, but this is not critical - in general, the images are of high quality.
But at night, the picture starts to crumble. Obviously, the focus is constantly walking, even if you adjust it manually by touching the screen, the main object will still be blurry. There are no stars in the sky, the moon is poorly displayed. In general, we can conclude that the camera is rather mediocre at night. And in general, the developer did not emphasize it.
The front camera has 8 MP and is generally quite good: good detail, accurate colors. Movies here can be shot in FullHD (1080p) at 30 frames per second. For a smartphone that costs about 10 thousand rubles, this is an extremely good result.
Specifications
The Honor 8A is powered by an eight-core MediaTek MT6765 processor paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The RAM is 2 GB, the internal memory is 32 GB, while there is a slot for a microSD memory card up to 512 GB. It can also be used for a second SIM card.
The battery with a capacity of 3020 mAh allows you to actively use your smartphone throughout the whole day. There is no fast charging mode, and therefore the phone can be charged up to hundreds of percent in about three hours, which is quite a long time.
In general, the performance of the smartphone is high enough for a price of 10 thousand, and therefore it is quite possible to recommend it to users.
