We all go to the movies. Fortunately, it has now become easy. You can still at home, reserve a seat for yourself via the Internet, buy a ticket and come to the cinema in at least five minutes. Nowadays such formats as 3D and 4D are extremely popular, but few people know what D-BOX 3D technology is.
If you are a real film fan and visit the cinema at least once a week, you should definitely be interested in a new development in the film industry. It is called D-BOX 3D and so far it is used only in the Kinomax cinema chain.
This technology was developed and implemented by Canadian computer scientists working at D-BOX Technologies. This invention helps to feel the realism of what is happening on the screen. It is presented in the form of a chair, which is able to change its position in accordance with what is happening on the screen. In the vastness of the Russian film industry, this technology appeared not so long ago, but its popularity is growing every month.
How technology works
D-BOX 3D is based on a powerful processor that can coordinate what is happening on the screen with the movements of the chair. Depending on what happens, the chair can vibrate, tilt and rotate. For the chair to work, you need to connect an audio cable to it. Then the processor will detect the sound track and send a signal to the chair mechanism for the appropriate action. These actions will correspond as much as possible to what is happening on the screen, which will help to completely immerse the viewer in the plot of the film and make him empathize with the characters.
Korean developers have gone even further. They decided to upgrade these chairs to 4D format. True, this process is very laborious and costly. To do this, the film is sent to Korea, where their specialists will adapt it to innovative chairs. Then, during the session, the chair will not only move, but also exude odors and spray liquid. Currently, this technology is extremely rare. The last film that has been fully adapted for this technology is called "Spy Kids 4D".
Advantages and basics of technology
Russian experts call this technology an attraction. A person takes part in setting up each seat in the cinema. This is what allows the viewer to take what is happening on the screen for reality, and minimize possible failures. This is the main factor that developers are proud of.
The D-BOX 3D is based on a hydraulic mechanism, which has a service life of several decades. There is no need to check the chairs every time after a session and take long breaks for fear of their performance.
In such a chair there are many highly sensitive sensors capable of accurately reacting to what is happening in the film. The movements are sharp, sudden and at the same time smooth, which allows children and spectators with vestibular disorders to feel comfortable. Thus, you can get real viewing pleasure.
Terms of use
- For comfortable viewing of a movie, you need to bring the chair into a comfortable position. To do this, use the arrows on the right armrest. The console has four power levels. It is possible to change the sensitivity and amplitude at each level. The chair can be turned off completely.
When the session is over, it is necessary to bring the chair into an upright position.
Geography of use
This technology is already used all over the world. At the very beginning, it was supposed to be used only in America, but after a year it spread to Europe and Asia. The technology appeared in Russia a few years ago. Colossi such as Universal, Walt Disney, Warner are now collaborating with the company that invented D-BOX 3D.
So far, there are about one and a half thousand films that can be enjoyed in conjunction with this technology. Now every self-respecting company, announcing a new film, has already worked hard to adapt it to D-BOX 3D.
D-BOX 3D in our country
Starting from 2018, anyone can purchase such a chair for home use. This pleasure will not be available to everyone, because the price is still noticeably "biting". In addition, it will be useful to consult about the TV. Will it fit?
Unfortunately, in Russia this technology is not yet so widespread, despite the fact that a ticket for a session costs no more than four hundred rubles. And any film fan can afford it.
There are no serious contraindications for using the D-BOX 3D system, but it is still worth familiarizing yourself with this list before visiting the cinema. You can find it at the poster stand or directly in front of the entrance to the hall.
Each cinema has its own sample, but a rough warning looks like this: The administration of the cinema warns that for any health problems, you should consult a doctor.
The hall with D-BOX 3D technology is prohibited for children under sixteen years of age (children are allowed only with parental consent) and pregnant women. In the latter case, this does not sound like a contraindication, but as a warning about the inconveniences that a woman may encounter (you cannot lean back, there is no footrest, etc.).
It is forbidden to use food and drinks without special containers during the session. This refers to containers for which a niche in the armrests is provided, and if possible, then do without drinks. Accidentally spilled liquid can disable the chair, for which the culprit is fully responsible for what happened.
The use of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
It is not recommended to put any foreign objects on the chair that could disturb the 100% effect of presence.
