If a new microphone does not work well or does not work at all, this does not mean that you bought a defective item. The microphone still needs to be set up correctly. How well the interlocutor will hear you depends on the sensitivity of the microphone. It can be adjusted.

Instructions
Step 1
Open your microphone settings. See how the sensitivity is set. If it is low, increase it and try the microphone again. If you can hear a little better, but the quality still does not suit you, increase the sensitivity to the level until the sound seems optimal to you. If the sensitivity has already reached the maximum level, and you still cannot hear what you are talking through the microphone, then you will need to take a closer look at the microphone settings.
Step 2
Start Windows Mixer. On the taskbar in the lower right corner, double-click on the "Volume" icon, it looks like a round speaker. If this icon is not present, it can simply be disabled. Then go to the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu and open the "Sounds and Audio Devices" section (the name may be slightly different, depending on your operating system). Check the box next to the line "Show icon on the taskbar". If after that the icon does not appear, then check if the audio drivers are working on your computer. Their incorrect work or their absence at all can be one of the reasons for problems with the microphone. In this case, install or reinstall sound drivers that are correct for your operating system.
Step 3
If the microphone regulator is not displayed in the running mixer, then go to the "Properties" menu through the "Parameters" menu and turn on the corresponding regulator there. Uncheck the Off box to check if the microphone is working - blow into it. If there is a rustle from the speakers, then everything is in order. Set it back to Off, otherwise you will hear all the noise and your voice through your speakers.
Step 4
Place the mixer in Record mode via the Properties tab. Check the box "Selected" ("On"). Now open the settings. Check the line “20db Boost” - this will add a noticeable 20 dB to the microphone's sensitivity.
Step 5
If the microphone still does not work, but you are sure that it is working properly, check that the plugs are plugged in correctly. In addition, check the settings of the program through which you carry out audio / video communication (Skype, Mail Agent, etc.). It may be that the default microphone is not the one you connected.
