In order for the subscriber to find out who is calling without picking up the phone, the so-called automatic number identifier (Caller ID) is used. It can be either a specialized technical device or a service provided by an operator.

Instructions

Step 1

To determine the number of the calling subscriber when using a landline telephone connected to an old-style PBX, use the identifier of the old standard. Before that, make sure that the caller ID equipment is installed on this PBX. Do not be afraid of devices that require mains power, as their power consumption has been greatly reduced in recent years, and power supplies no longer overheat.

Step 2

If you want the identifier to pronounce the digits of a certain number in a voice, use a domestic device without a radio tube. It can be connected in parallel with an existing device with a radio handset, but if it also has the caller ID function, turn it off.

Step 3

Remember that the identifier of the old standard automatically picks up the phone after two or three rings, and then only emulates beeps for the caller and calls for you. At the same time, funds from the caller's account begin to be debited after the phone picks up the handset, and not you, and parallel phones from that moment stop ringing.

Step 4

Although the old-style caller ID starts working immediately after connecting, in order to avoid legal prosecution from the operator, warn him in advance that you have a qualifier and start paying a small subscription fee.

Step 5

If you use the services of a modern PBX that supports tone dialing in the DTMF standard, then the classic caller ID will not work. Such a station transmits information about the number of the calling subscriber also in the DTMF standard, but only after the subscription fee begins to be paid for this service. Purchase a qualifier of the appropriate standard. It is supported by many devices equipped with radio tubes, as well as new models of domestic speaking identifiers. The device of this standard, being correctly configured, does not carry out early pickup.

Step 6

To use the Caller ID service on a cell phone, do not perform any additional actions. It is available from most operators and is usually free of charge. But if the calling subscriber uses AntiAON, his number will not be identified. To bypass AntiAon, operators offer another service, which, on the contrary, is very expensive. But even she does not guarantee the definition of hidden numbers in all cases.

Step 7

If you are satisfied with the definition of hidden numbers not in real time, contact the operator's office for a detailed call report. Obtaining such a document, although it is paid, is much cheaper than a subscription fee for a service that allows you to bypass AntiAON.
