For protection and identification of a mobile phone after theft, there is a special 15-digit serial number - IMEI. It is stored in the device's memory and subsequently transmitted to the network of the cellular company automatically after turning on the device.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to return a stolen phone, first remember how much money you have left on your balance and whether you are not connected to a postpaid tariff. If you have a lot of money on your account or you really use the tariff on the fact of calls, be sure to block the SIM card with the possibility of further recovery. If you are not afraid of future debts or loss of money, leave the SIM card active. In this case, the attacker can use the phone and make calls, then it will be easier for law enforcement agencies to track him down.
Step 2
Before contacting the police, determine the IMEI code. To do this, review the docs. As a rule, mobile operators offer to dial the standard combination * # 06 # immediately after purchase to display the IMEI code on the phone screen. If you have not used this service, look at the packaging from the device. On it you will find a sticker with a barcode and IMEI code.
Step 3
Contact the nearest service center servicing your mobile operator and provide them with your passport if the SIM card of the stolen phone is registered to you. Ask the employee to make a printout of calls from the date the phone was lost. Pay a certain amount of money for the printout and go to the police station.
Step 4
In the police write a statement that your phone was stolen. Since the form of such an application is free, enter your details - full name, address of residence and contact phone number, and then information about the phone - its IMEI code and information from the printout of calls. Do not forget to ask the police for a search request by the IMEI number with the mobile company. After that, periodically call the police station and find out about the results so that your case is not forgotten.
