When watching satellite channels, digital tuners are better recommended. This will ensure the best image quality, as the built-in analogue tuners are not capable of high quality digital signal processing.
Necessary
video signal transmission cable
Instructions
Step 1
Select a standalone TV tuner. This device must be able to process a digital signal, otherwise it will be of little use. Find out the presence of digital signal transmission channels in the tuner you like. These can be DVI and HDMI ports. In the event that you want to connect several TVs to one tuner, there must be several such channels. Purchase your chosen model.
Step 2
Install the TV tuner in the desired location. It is best to place the equipment as close to the TV as possible. Purchase a video cable. Don't use cheap cables because they tend to distort the image. Do not purchase a cable that is too long unless absolutely necessary. Excessive cable length will negatively affect the quality of the final image.
Step 3
Try not to use adapters or wire connections. Connect identical channels of your TV and TV tuner, such as DVI-DVI or HDMI-HDMI. Do not make a DVI-HDMI connection if you can do otherwise. Connect a satellite TV or other antenna cable to the dedicated jack on the TV tuner. Connect the selected ports of the TV and tuner. Turn on both devices.
Step 4
Initially, the TV outputs the signal received via the antenna jack. Open the settings of your TV and select the port through which you made the connection as the main signal source. Use the TV tuner remote control to set up this unit.
Step 5
Remember that with this connection option, all the manipulations for adjusting the image quality, choosing the channels to be watched, etc. must be done with a TV tuner. The TV simply displays the image transmitted by the other device. In the TV settings, change only the brightness and contrast of the image.
