The track recording function is present in modern models of navigation devices. You can add it to your navigator by flashing it, which should only be done if you have a service manual.
Necessary
- - Navigator firmware program;
- - service instructions for it.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure that the GPS navigator you are using supports the track recording function. In cases where your navigation system does not provide for its availability, you can also change the firmware for the device after the expiration of the warranty service provided by the seller and the manufacturer. It is best to contact the specialists of the service centers to change the software, since reinstalling it yourself can cause a malfunction.
Step 2
When using a GPS navigator built into a mobile phone, make sure that the track recording function is present in the installed software. You can also change it by selecting a program with the appropriate functionality. At the same time, pay attention to the correspondence of the applications installed on the phone with its screen resolution and platform.
Step 3
Turn on your navigator, start the mode of creating your own tracks (usually found in the "Tracks" menu) and mark the point that will serve as the beginning of the route on the loaded map of the area. After that, define the end point, also mark it on the map and apply an appropriate name to it.
Step 4
The tracks you recorded will be stored in the internal or external memory of the navigation device, after saving them you can refer to them to view the route. This is quite convenient for those who periodically have to pass the same section of the road.
Step 5
Please note that self-reinstalling software for navigators requires you to understand the principles of operation of the device, and you should also be familiar with the procedure for flashing navigation devices. Remember that flashing the device does not guarantee that recording of your own tracks will be possible on your navigator.
