If, when a call comes to a cell phone, the caller's number is immediately displayed on the screen, then the home phone is usually not even equipped with a screen. You have to use a special phone with a number identification function.
Instructions
Step 1
Find out what standard of number identification is supported by the telephone exchange to which the device is connected: classic caller ID or modern DTMF. It may also turn out that the station does not support either one or the other standard - then the service will have to be abandoned.
Step 2
Purchase either a radiotelephone with the function of identifying the number according to the standard used by the PBX, or a domestic multifunctional device. The latter does not have a radio tube, but is equipped with a bright luminous display with large numbers. It has many functions implemented in software and is also equipped with a speech synthesizer. New models of such devices are dual standard.
Step 3
Connect the device in parallel with the existing telephones. If it has a power supply, plug it in. If the machine is bi-standard, select the correct standard. The radiotelephone function can be caller ID turned off by default - turn it on.
Step 4
Order the number identification service at the PBX. This is especially important if the station operates in the DTMF standard: the service simply will not work without being connected. And the service provided according to the old standard is better paid to avoid the risk of prosecution, although this happens rarely. The subscription fee is often less than one hundred rubles.
Step 5
Customize the machine according to your preferences. Select, in particular, the volume of the speech synthesis, the brightness of the indicator light, the ringtone. Learn to use additional functions in your phone: alarm clock, calculator. In domestic devices, there are up to several dozen functions, among which everyone will find convenient for himself.
Step 6
Note that the legacy caller ID simulates an off-hook. It is from this moment that the withdrawal of funds from the caller's account begins, if he does not have an unlimited tariff.
