Lenses are special optical devices that are needed in order to build an image on the projection plane. It depends on the properties of the lens, which in turn are determined by the set of lenses used.

Almost all lenses belong to collecting optical devices, but there are exceptions, for example, a pinhole camera scatters light rays. The lenses that make up the lens not only form the image, but also compensate for aberrations and other optical interference. The lens system is enclosed in a frame, which is made in the form of a tube. The finished lens has the form of a threaded cylinder, it is needed in order to attach the optical device to the equipment that perceives the image. Despite the fact that lenses are used in many industries, usually when it comes to photography, we mean photography, much less often talk about video. In general, lenses are found in all devices that work with light. These are observation and measuring devices, various printing devices, and much more. Each lens has its own optical characteristics, such as focal length, aperture. Some models are created so that it was possible to change these parameters. Its features are also important, such as possible optical interference in the image, for example, aberration or vignetting. Even a moment such as the shape of the bokeh is also important for certain types of photography. Some of the lenses are only suitable for portrait photography, others are ideal for close-ups, while others can be used for amazing landscape shots. In photography, depending on the requirements, in different cases, opposite types of lenses can be used. If there were such an optical device in which a variety of possibilities were combined, then no one would buy a lot of interchangeable lenses, everyone would be limited to only this one model, universal in its properties. But there is no perfect solution that is common to all conditions, so you have to use different lenses. The photographer or operator selects the optics that are optimal for the given situation for each specific case. To choose the right lenses for yourself, you need to answer some questions. First, what are you going to shoot? Second, do you agree to carry multiple lenses with you at all times? And thirdly, what is your budget? Some models are for portraits, and completely different for landscapes. By identifying the scope of the lens, you will greatly reduce the scope of your search for the device you need. If you do not want to constantly carry a bag or backpack with lenses with you in order to constantly change them, then it is better to try to find something more or less versatile, albeit at the expense of some important characteristics. For such types of photography as reportage, ease of use and the ability to instantly take a picture without fiddling with equipment are of great importance. Finally, the issue of cost can be decisive. If several lenses do not fit into your budget, then willy-nilly you will have to get by with one thing, at least for the first time.
