From time to time, users of mobile devices wonder why the computer does not see the phone, and at the same time there is no possibility of data exchange. The reasons can be completely different, from incorrect connection to problems in devices.

Step 1
Check the tightness of the USB cable connection with your phone and computer. Make sure the cable is free from scuffs or kinks. If the computer does not see the phone after connecting, try connecting the cable to a different USB port on the computer. Wait a while for the system to detect the connected device and configure it properly.
Step 2
See if the new device detection icon appears on the taskbar. Quite often, the computer does not see the phones of new models, and to identify them, you need to install the appropriate drivers. If your phone came with a bootable disc, place it in the CD drive and run the installer. If there is no disk, right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Properties". Go to Device Manager and look for an unidentified device with a yellow exclamation mark. Click on it and select "Install Driver". Specify the Internet as a search location for drivers and wait a while until the system detects and installs the necessary services.
Step 3
When connecting some phone models, the process of detecting a new device does not start. Just try to go to "My Computer" and see if a new removable device icon has appeared in this folder. Click on it and you will be taken to the contents of the phone's memory card.
Step 4
Please note that when connecting the latest iPhone to a computer, you must also click on the screen of the phone itself and unlock. After that, a request "Trust this computer?" Will appear on the device's screen. Select "Yes", and only after that the phone folder will become available in the "My Computer" section.
Step 5
Disable temporarily the system antivirus and other resource-consuming processes if the computer does not see the phone. Outdated hardware and cluttered operating systems can slow down the detection of new devices. Also try restarting your computer and cell phone, and then reconnecting the devices. Various internal software glitches can be the cause of the problem, which can be fixed by a reboot.
