It is very easy to launch a new memory card (flash drive) on a personal computer. Its activation will not force the user to perform complex manipulations. When you connect a memory card to a computer that you have already used, you can add malicious programs (viruses) to the PC system.
Instructions
Step 1
You have a new memory card that you bought from a specialized electronics department. You can activate its work in this way. Insert the memory stick into one of the free USB ports on your personal computer. Wait while the system detects the connected device. After the flash card is identified, a dialog box will open with the offer "Open current folder". Do not select any of the suggested actions, just close this window.
Step 2
After that click "Start" and select the "My Computer" section. Hover the mouse cursor over the memory card shortcut and right-click on it. The device menu will open.
Step 3
Find the line titled "Properties" and click on it. A dialog box will open. Select "Format Device". For the best performance of the memory card, use the "Slow format" function. After this procedure, you can use an active flash card.
Step 4
Connecting an already used memory card to a computer is also easy. Insert this flash drive into the USB connector. The computer's operating system will recognize the storage device as removable media. A window will open asking you to open the memory card folder. Ignore this suggestion by closing the dialog box. Find the "My Computer" folder and open it. Use the right mouse button on the storage device shortcut. From the menu that opens, select the "Scan for viruses" line. This option is available in the menu if an anti-virus program is installed on your personal computer.
Step 5
If your PC does not have an antivirus, then you should not open the memory card to avoid virus infection. After the antivirus scan of the flash drive for malware is completed, you can open it with full confidence. If during the scan trojans and scripts, as well as various viruses were found, it is advisable to delete them.
