Frames per second is the number of images that change each other in one second, resulting in the effect of motion on the screen. The standard rate in cinematography is considered to be 24 frames per second, while the minimum rate at which movements on the screen will be smooth is 16 frames per second. Naturally, the higher this indicator for a video file, the smoother and more natural the movements on the screen will be.

Instructions

Step 1

One of the programs that allows you to change the frequency indicator is Adobe After Effects.

Download this program from the official website of the company and install it on your computer.

Launch After Effects, select the movie (in the context menu, choose Import, then File …), the frequency of which you want to change. A line with the name of the edited video file will appear in the project window, here you can see the current frequency of the video stream, in this case 25 frames per second.

Step 2

Press and hold the right mouse button on the video file thumbnail, drag it to the new composition icon on the bottom toolbar.

Step 3

A Timeline panel appears at the bottom of the window for frame-by-frame video editing. Press "Ctrl + K", which will open the Composition Settings window. Go to the Basic tab and in the Frame Rate line enter a new rate, for example 30.

Step 4

Now you need to turn on the frame blending mode. To do this, in the Timeline panel, click on the Enables Frame Blending for all layers with the Frame Blend switch set button.

Choose from three stirring modes

• In the first mode, the missing frames will be created by duplicating the existing ones, while the corresponding cell of the Timeline panel will be empty,

• In the second - frames will be obtained by mixing the original frames, while the cell contains a dotted line, • In the third - the missing frames will be obtained by morphing the existing adjacent frames, while a solid line is shown in the cell.

The fastest mixing mode is the first, while the quality of the final result will not be the highest, on the contrary, the best result is achieved with morphing, but the conversion process in this mode can be lengthy.

Step 5

To save a new video file in the Composition menu, select Make movie …, specify the name and location on the disk for saving the file, press the Render button.
