A certain proportion of modern webcams have built-in microphones. This feature makes it much easier to use the camera. At the same time, some users may have difficulty connecting this equipment.
It is necessary
- - web-camera;
- - access to the Internet.
Instructions
Step 1
First, check if the webcam is properly connected to the computer. Microphone devices are of two types. The first includes cameras with a single USB connector. Through it, a signal is transmitted to the capture device and microphone. Another category of webcams has a separate mini Jack connector for connecting a microphone.
Step 2
If you are dealing with the second type of cameras, select the correct sound card port to which the microphone will be connected. To do this, open the program designed to configure the sound card.
Step 3
Look at the assignments of each of the ports. Choose the one that works with your microphone. Install the webcam drivers. It is best to perform the installation from a special disk, which is often included with the equipment.
Step 4
If the driver files are missing, visit the webcam manufacturer's website. Open the program download menu and download the utilities suitable for this device model. Install the downloaded program.
Step 5
Open the Start Menu to go to the PC Control Panel. Select the Hardware and Sound submenu. Find the link "Manage audio devices" and click on it. Wait for the new dialog to start.
Step 6
Open the "Recording" tab. Select the desired device from the list of available microphones and click the "Default" button. Now click on "Properties" and open the "Levels" tab
Step 7
Set the microphone volume to a suitable setting. If even the maximum level does not give the desired volume, change the position of the slider in the "Microphone gain" field.
Step 8
To test the device, open the "Listen" tab. Check the box next to "Listen from this device." Uncheck this box after testing is complete.
