Many large companies have been trying for years to succeed in the technology market with touch monitors. But no matter how hard they try, such a product is not very popular, and there are no shifts in this matter.

Let's start with who was the first to bring the idea of touch monitors to life. Samsung was the first in this direction. The management was struck by the strong demand for phones, smartphones and tablets with touch panels, and the company decided to try the same thing with monitors. But it was not there. In the computer market, this novelty has not won the hearts of users.

Apparently, not everyone was ready to grab their monitor with their hands. Which caused the disappointment of Samsung marketers. But this idea has a second chance. Microsoft has become the savior of touch monitors. And what did they do? We crossed our desktop version of the Windows operating system with an OS that was created specifically for devices with a touchscreen display. But as it turned out, the genes of those operating systems do not fit together and it turned out "neither yours, nor ours."

This OS has become too bulky for desktop computers. And in fact, it was not possible to implement even half of the ideas conceived. To make up for the lost, it was necessary to use those very Samsung touch monitors. That is, without these monitors, the operating system was generally at a low level and was of little use.

But Apple, the founders of touch technology, didn't even want to consider the idea of creating touch monitors for their products. And the companies Asus, Intel and AMD were deciding whether to develop this idea or not, but they refused temporarily, freezing this idea, and after a while they still took up its implementation. As sales of computers and laptops fell sharply, they decided to fix the situation with the release of their devices with touch screens. But, as practice has shown, this did not save them. Buyers' interest in such technologies is not very high. The expected forecasts did not come true in the second quarter, and they are unlikely to be corrected in the near future.

And according to the available information, all the companies engaged in the production of laptops unanimously repeated that in the first quarter of all sold laptops 10% will be with touch screens. In the second quarter, an increase of up to 20% was planned. And on the third and fourth up to 40%. But, as it turned out, even 20% is a very high bar that cannot be jumped over.

But, as it turned out, the low demand was not caused by the touch screens themselves, but by Intel and retailers. Intel has equipped touch-sensitive laptops with new fourth-generation processors. And retailers were in a hurry to fuse laptops with conventional screens and outdated processors as soon as possible.

That is, wanting to sell all the laptops that are outdated, the price is specially reduced for them. Or they conduct sales, carry out all kinds of promotions. This means that the percentage of sales may still rise. And very soon, almost everyone will have laptops with touch screens. Their time may still come.

Well, as for the present time, in the race of touch technologies Microsoft stubbornly does not give up, continuing to develop in the hope that touch monitors will still be popular and they will flood the wide market. Still, you need to at least return the money spent on the development of the idea. And in order to attract more buyers, they started a dirty game. Microsoft extols new technologies by talking about modernity and technology. And the classic versions of laptops and PCs are mixed with dirt. And what they get from this, we will find out in the near future.
