Instructions

Step 1

Search the Internet for books in TXT format files. Their encoding can be any (and if they are written in a language that uses only Latin letters, it does not matter). You can download free books that have passed more than 70 years since the death of their authors from the Project Gutenberg website. There they are presented mainly in English, which is useful for those who are learning this language. If you prefer works by contemporary authors written in Russian, contact the paid library "Liters" for them. Another interesting resource is the library, in which all books are distributed under free licenses. It is called "Wikibooks".

Step 2

If the book is contained in a file of a format other than TXT, open this file on a computer in a compatible application, select all the text in it, copy it to the clipboard, then open the file editor in TXT format (on Linux - Kwrite, Geany, on Windows - Notepad ++, Notepad), then save. Please note that the resulting file will not contain images. If the editor allows you to select the encoding when saving, choose the one that is more convenient for you.

Step 3

Install the X-Plore program on your phone. If you wish, pay for it (in relation to this program, this is voluntary, and the set of its functions does not depend on whether it is paid for, and it is allowed to use an unpaid program for an unlimited time). By its purpose, this application is a file manager, but it includes a very convenient text viewer that supports various encodings.

Step 4

Place the file on the phone's memory card in the Others folder.

Step 5

Open the X-Plore file manager. Select Russian in its settings. Then close the program and reopen it. Select in its settings the encoding in which you are going to read the file. Go to the Others folder of the memory card, find the desired file and start reading it.
