A homemade pickup will be inferior to the factory one for a number of indicators. And the noise reduction is lower, and the view is not so beautiful, and the quality depends on the skill, but any guitarist can try himself as a master.
Necessary
- Varnished wire (diameter 0.1-0.2 mm);
- A smooth piece of plastic;
- Clay (like The Moment);
- 6 string bolts;
- Brass strip;
- Insulating tape;
- Magnet.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut 6 records out of plastic - 4 on the inner sides of the pickup and 2 on the outside. Glue them together in such a way that you get like a cylinder with protruding edges of the "circles" (the outer shapes of the pickups are rather elliptical rather than round).
Step 2
Drill six bolt holes equidistant from each other.
Step 3
Leave the end of the wire to retract contact. Start winding onto the bobbin by hand or with a screwdriver at low speeds. Make sure that the wire does not break.
Step 4
Shield the coil with brass strip and electrical tape. Solder the wires.
Step 5
Glue the magnet to the bottom of the coil. Bolt the pickup to the guitar.
