HTC phones come with two flavors of operating systems: Android and Windows Phone. Depending on the version of the software you are using, the process of setting up e-mail on your phone will take place using different menu items and functions.
Instructions
Step 1
You can use standard system tools to set up mail on an HTC phone running Android. To set up an e-mail box, go to the "Mail" or E-mail section of the main menu of the device.

On the screen that appears, you will see a request to enter your email address and password to it. If the phone database contains automatic settings for connecting to an e-mail box, you will be automatically connected to your server. Automatic configuration is supported for such major mail servers as Gmail, Yandex, Yahoo, Mail.ru.

If you are using a different mail server, click "Manual". Enter the parameters for incoming and outgoing mail. Typically, the address of the incoming mail server is pop.server.ru, where server.ru is the address of your mail resource. The outgoing server is formed in the same way through smtp.server.ru. Some services use the mail.server.ru address as a standard for incoming or outgoing mail.
Step 4
If your phone is running Windows Phone, setting up your mail will be slightly different. Go to the device menu by swiping left on the screen. Among the proposed items, select "Settings" - "Mail + accounts".
Step 5
Click "Add Account" and specify the type of mailbox you want to set up. Then enter your email address information and account password. If you want to manually specify the server for incoming or outgoing mail, click the "Advanced" button on the device screen and enter the required parameters.
Step 6
On both Android and Windows Phone, you can install alternative email clients to manage your email records. To search for a mail download program, go to the "Play Store" on Android or to the "Market" Windows. Use the search query "mail client" in the menu of the running program to find the required utility. Install and configure it according to the instructions on the screen.
