Not everyone has the opportunity to carry a book with them for reading due to its size. However, many of us are used to carrying a player, such as an iPod, with us at all times. There is an opportunity to use it not only for listening to music, but also for reading.
Instructions
Step 1
Reading books from iPod is possible using the notes function. Activate them in your player. To do this, open the iPod Settings, select the "Main Menu" and then "Notes". Please note that the player can only work with files in the.txt format, which are encoded in Unicode and are no more than 4 kb in size.
Step 2
Prepare text files for recording. To do this, open the necessary book in.txt format using the standard system program "Notepad". Then select "File" -> "Save As", specify the desired file name, then click on the drop-down menu opposite the inscription "Encoding" and select "Unicode". Click on the "Save" button.
Step 3
Connect your iPod to your computer using a USB cable. To do this, connect one end of it to the player, and the other to the connector on the computer's system unit. After identifying your device using your operating system explorer, open the player folder and navigate to the Notes directory. Copy the prepared.txt file with Unicode encoding into it.
Step 4
The 4K file size limitation can cause some inconvenience. You can solve this problem with the free WordPod program. Download it from the official site of the developer https://wordpod.sourceforge.net/, install and run.
Step 5
Click on the Add button located on the toolbar, and in the window that appears, select a book in.txt format with Unicode encoding. Click on the drop-down menu next to Encoding and select UTF-8 from the list. Click OK and, if necessary, in the next window, specify the author, title, genre, etc.
Step 6
After that, the added book will appear in the program list, check the box next to it. Connect your iPod to your computer, click on the Sync button located on the right side of the program toolbar. After synchronization, the selected book will appear in the notes section of the player.
