2008 was marked by the birth of the newest operating system called Android, based on the so-called Linux kernel. This system is installed on smartphones, tablets, electronic watches and books, netbooks and many other digital (Android Incorporation), and then sold to Google.
The clone walks the world
On September 23, 2008, the first official version of android - clone, translated from English, was released. The new smartphone HTC Dream became the happy owner of the platform. After some time, Google received a large number of applications for the introduction of this device into its line of smartphones and tablet computers. By the end of 2009, the first photo frame on the Android platform was released, and two years later, a well-known watch manufacturer, Blue Sky (Italy), released a smart wristwatch on this platform.
2012 was marked by the release of the first camera from Canon, equipped with the Android platform. The number of devices running on the Android platform by the end of September 2013 totaled over a billion units.
The Android platform has its advantages over the rest. The first and most significant advantage is the implementation of a large number of functions, due to the fact that Android has the property of openness.
If you compare Android to its closest competitor Apple IOS, then phones with the former lead the way in web surfing and Google's ease of use. In addition, devices based on this base have a microSD card reader, which provides high-speed file transfer from any media to a smartphone and vice versa. Among other things, the Bluetooth stack is fully implemented in Android, it can both receive and transfer files. Some versions of Android support the mode of using several people at once, this is extremely convenient if you have one netbook or a smartphone phone.
Cons of androids
But, despite all the positive reviews and characteristics, there is also a "fly in the ointment". One of the important disadvantages of the Android platform is that it requires a significant power consumption, which means that you will have to constantly charge the device. In some cases, it is possible for your device to "slow down" when performing complex operations. Also, for some, it may seem like a disadvantage that before starting work on Android, you will have to adjust all the characteristics and functions of the device for yourself, but, on the other hand, after that your smartphone or tablet will work the way you want.
Android, of course, is a high-quality and multifunctional platform for phones as well.
Considering the objective characteristics, some prefer an android phone, others stop at IOS. Before buying a new device, think about what you want to get from it, and based on this, start choosing the appropriate platform.
