If your phone is lost or stolen, you have to part not only with it, but also with your SIM card. It is clear that the phone book cannot be returned after that if you have not made a backup copy of it. But it is quite possible not to lose the number itself, or even money is not in the account. One call is enough for this.
Instructions
Step 1
Call your carrier's support service from any other phone as soon as possible. The sooner you do this, the less likely the kidnappers will have time to spend funds from the SIM card account. It is especially important to hurry in the event that you have a postpaid tariff or your phone is lost abroad, since those who take possession of the device can put you in a significant debt. Although it is very expensive to call a support service in roaming, the costs can still be many times lower than the losses thus avoided. The customer support numbers for the main Russian operators are as follows:
MTS - 0890, 8 800 333 0890;
Beeline - 0611, (495) 974-8888;
Megaphone - 0500, 8 800 33 0500;
Skylink - 000, (495) 973-73-73.
Step 2
Calls to short numbers can only be made within the network of the respective operator and are free of charge when in the home region. You can call 800 code free of charge from any wired or cell phone in any city of the Russian Federation. A call to a number in the code 495 is charged in the same way as a call to any city number in Moscow. In roaming, you will have to pay for the conversation in all three cases.
Step 3
If you are calling from a landline phone, switch it to tone mode. Following the prompts of the automatic informant, press the keys until you enter the mode of connection with the consultant. Wait for his answer and report that your phone is stolen or lost and that you want to block your SIM card. Tell him the number and your passport details. Having received this information, the consultant will block the card and tell you in which office to get a new one. It is usually issued free of charge.
Step 4
If you are in roaming, do not rush to take a return ticket ahead of schedule in order to get a new SIM card in your hometown. She will wait for you at the office as long as necessary.
Step 5
After receiving a new card and making sure that it works in the new phone, find the package from the stolen device at home, if it has survived. It contains the serial number of the device - the so-called IMEI. Contact the police, informing the phone model, its number, as well as the IMEI number, if you have one. Be sure to say that you have restored the SIM card and that the old one no longer works. The probability that the phone will be found is relatively small, but it exists, and therefore this possibility should not be neglected.
